According to the BBC and other sources, officials in Scotland believe the recent outbreak in south west Edinburgh has reached its peak, as the number of cases has remained static for several days. The total number of confirmed Legionnaires’ disease cases reached 42, along with another 47 suspected cases. The outbreak claimed two lives. Officials still seek definitive answers regarding the cause of the Edinburgh outbreak, and its source. According to Fife Today, five people have begun to file suit, and it is likely more will take legal action once more details about the source arise.
