According to Delaware Online, two people who stayed at the Sea Watch Condominiums have contracted Legionnaires’ disease since last fall. The Worcester County Health Department has subsequently conducted an investigation and found Legionella bacteria at the condos. Although it is not certain that the two guests acquired Legionnaires’ disease at the Sea Watch, the positive tests by the health department mean it was likely the source. The Sea Watch remains open, but guests are being notified of the potential risks, and given details about the outbreak.
Mr. Zacher is currently involved in litigation against the Plim Plaza Hotel, also in Ocean City, Maryland, as well as a number of Legionnaires’ disease cases around the country.
