Princess Cruises (owned by Carnival Corp.) was required to pay £120,000 for two legal cases after dozens of passengers became ill.  John Whiley, a 63-year-old man became ill with Legionnaires’ disease after sailing on Sea Princess in 2011; he is being given £20,000.  48 other passengers were sickened by Norovirus on multiple cruises to the Mediterranean on Grand Princess in 2010; they are collectively being given £100,000.  The cruise liner, however, does not admit liability in either case.
