The 28 residents occupying The Hall Nursing Home in Worcestershire County, Britain have been forced to move out after the home was deemed unsafe for them to stay.
The Worcestershire County Council decided that the home was not providing a “safe and suitable living environment” when the Health and Safety Executive found unusually high levels of Legionella in the home’s water system and issued a prohibition notice. Further, the Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service found that the home also provided poor fire safety.
A County Council spokesperson said, “The council and partner agencies place the utmost importance on the quality of care of vulnerable people and therefore considers this action necessary to secure the welfare and safety of the residents in the home. We are of course following people up in their new nursing homes, working with the NHS, staff, family and friends.”
