Lawsuit filed in Orlando, Florida
Jules Zacher is currently involved in a Legionnaires’ disease case involving a Canadian couple who visited Florida to attend a wedding, where they stayed at a Quality Suites hotel. The hot tub at the hotel was improperly maintained, and as a result, Mr. Zacher’s client became seriously ill with Legionnaires’ disease, necessitating a two-week hospitalization. According to Florida law, chlorine levels in hot tubs must fall between 2 and 10 parts per million; but when tested, the chlorine level of the Quality Suites’ hot tub was 0.5 parts per million, well below the range required by law. Mr. Zacher argues that if the hotel had obeyed the law and maintained appropriate chlorine levels in the hot tub, then his client would not have become ill.
