Thamesbrook home

Thamesbrook home, an outdated old person’s home in Chelsea in the United Kingdom, has permanently closed after discovering Legionella bacteria last year.

The 56-bed facility has been closed since May 2014, but it was decided earlier this month by members of Kensington & Chelsea’s cabinet to close the home permanently and build 150 new homes instead for elderly residents.

During the meeting on July 16, the members selected the ‘extra care’ option allowing older people to rent or buy their own homes in developments that offer onsite care.
