Tap water restrictions were put in place on August 22 at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport (ENH) in New York following the discovery of a potential Legionnaires’ disease case associated with the hospital. Chlorine disinfection work began on Saturday, August 23, and the water restriction was lifted on August 27.
According to Carolyn Moore, ENH Director of Community Relations, the chlorination process was meant to kill any bacteria and that now, “Patients, visitors and staff can utilize water normally.”
