The Dartmouth Police Department is still working out of three rented trailers after the closing of the headquarters building due to the presence of Legionella bacteria. The trailers, placed in the Police Department’s parking lot, were brought in after an officer became ill with Legionnaires’ disease.
“It has been tough with the recent weather (rain, wind, and snow), going to the different (trailers). Not being together in the same building makes it difficult,” said Shannon Lyonnais, executive secretary to Police Chief Timothy M. Lee.
The police chief said, “I feel it’s the only course of action. While it’s not very comfortable, we’re acting in the best interest of the officers and the civilian staff and the public.”
