The sister of a man who died due to Legionnaires’ disease is now suing the Veterans Administration on his behalf. Lloyd Mitchell Wanstreet, a navy veteran from Jeannette, PA, died at the age of 65 in July 2012 after contracting Legionnaires’ disease while at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System for treatment for his leg. His estate is now bringing suit against the VA.
This is one of a number of lawsuits that have been filed against the Veterans administration due to a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak that occurred from 2011 to 2012.
