Two cases of Legionnaires’ disease were confirmed by health department officials in Allegany County, NY last week.
According to Allegany County environmental safety officer Thomas Hall, one of these cases was reported in Wellsville and the other was in Andover.
Laurie Hennessy, director of patient services for the health department said, “the public is not at risk. These are sporadic cases that are expected throughout the year.”
